ADVENT PROJECT 2025 = a fundraiser in support of GREEN IGLU.

"GREEN IGLU" is an organization that is raising money to build a growing dome in North Caribou Lake First Nations community, in northern Ontario.

A growing dome will extend their growing season, and provide local nutritious food, and help address food insecurity. Fresh produce is extremely expensive and of poor quality due to the distance the food travels. For more info go to greeniglu.com

Can you support this project with a donation? You can donate here on our website or deliver a cheque to the church office or place on the offering plate during Sunday morning service anytime in December. Cheques should be made out to The Donway Covenant United Church.

Thank you for supporting this creative initiative!

Click on the CBC news story  Living on a carpet: Affordability crisis hits hard for newcomers to learn about the HENS refugee project  based at the Donway Covenant United Church

Our two refugees from Somalia arrived in August!

They are delighted to be here and we are equally delighted! They have settled into their apartment, getting acquainted with their sister and family, and attending ESL classes.

Thank you to all of you who made it happen with your prayers and financial support! Together, we have given two young people a wonderful new life in Canada!!
