Soup & Film Series - Fall 2010 Soup & Film Series
Every fall and spring the outreach committee hosts a soup *& film series. Everyone is invited to come either at 4pm or 7pm (same film repeated) to view a film and to share a light soup supper at 6pm. A lively discussion follows the screening. All are welcome. Cost is only $5 per person.

Fair Trade Fair
Every spring we invite the community to our Fair Trade Fair. Vendors who sell only items that are recognized as being produced and distributed using the standards of Fair Trade practices are present in the church auditorium. All are invited to come and support this growing industry by purchasing produces such as coffee, chocolate, clothing and much, much more. A cafe serving Fair Trade Product is present for you to relax and enjoy your experience.

E.S.L. Conversation Group
On Wednesday afternoons a group of volunteers from The Donway Covenant invite new Canadians to come and improve their English language skills. This program is offered free of charge. All are welcome.

Amnesty International Letter Signing Circle
After the worship service on every third Sunday of the month from September to June, the congregation is encouraged to sign “Urgent Action Letters” that focus on human rights abuses around the world. These letters are then mailed to various officials connected with these situations. All are welcome to participate.

Community Share Food Bank
On the first Sunday of each month and on Easter, Thanksgiving and White Gift Sundays, special food drives are held for our local food bank to aid members of our community. A food basket sits in the narthex every week to receive donations of food. Cash donations are also gratefully received. Many members of the church volunteer their time and some are members of the Community Share Food Bank Board.

Flemingdon Neighbourhood Services
This organization is located at 10 Gateway, Suite 104, 416-424-2900. During the year, it accepts household items, blankets, bedding, towels and seasonal clothing for the many families who move through its system.

Special Collections
Throughout the year, we collect aluminum pop can tabs for wheelchairs, Campbell’s Soup labels, eyeglasses for the CNIB and stamps for the Leprosy Mission.. All donations are gratefully accepted.
